September 2, 2006 Dear Business Owner: In recent months the Hawaiian Islands Recreational Scuba Association (HIRSA) and DEMA have been working together to find a resolution to several legislative issues that may directly impact diving businesses in the state of Hawaii. It also appears that these same issues could spill over into other parts of the US mainland and have far reaching consequences for diving businesses everywhere. Both HIRSA and DEMA are cooperating to achieve the common goal of making the diving business climate better. It is this type of cooperation that has been the hallmark of the HIRSA organization. DEMA supports local diving business associations that strive to make a difference in their business communities, and HIRSA certainly fits that description. I hope you will consider joining HIRSA and DEMA for the coming year. Both organizations can use your knowledge and support to better the industry locally, across the US, and internationally. Best regards, Tom Ingram Home
